Google Chrome Mac Os X El Capitan

On January 20th, 2016, Google pushed out the Google Chrome v48 update and this new update prevents MySpeed from working with Chrome on Mac El Capitan OS X 10.11 and later.

This issue only applies to systems running OS X 10.12 Sierra and 10.11 El Capitan. On earlier versions of the Mac OS (10.10 Yosemite, 10.9 Mavericks, etc). Google Chrome will continue work with MySpeed as before.
Starting with v48 and later, Google Chrome is now ‘opting-in’ to Apple’s new System Integrity Protection on OS X 10.11 and later, much like Safari does. OS X 10.11 and later prevents MySpeed from being able to interact with any application that is under the control of System Integrity Protection. There is nothing we can do about these changes from Apple and Google. Additionally, our discussions with the Google Chrome team did not yield any compromises.

You do have several options however:

Download Google Chrome beta for Mac to browse Internet via beta channel of Google's Web browser. Google Chrome beta has had 40 updates within the past 6 months. OS X El Capitan OS X Yosemite. Version 88 will stop supporting Mac OS X 10.10 Yosemite, with Chrome requiring 10.11+ moving forward. When Chrome is screen sharing, notifications will not appear until after the session has.

  1. You can use MySpeed with the Firefox and Opera browsers.
  2. We are working on an update and soon MySpeed will also support other browsers on OS X including Citrio and SRWare Iron.
  3. While not recommended, you can disable, or partially disable System Integrity Protection. Please see the information below on how to go about that.

Disable System Integrity Protection

The supported way to disable System Integrity Protection in those cases where it's truly necessary is to boot into the Recovery partition and use csrutil tool. See the 'Disable System Integrity Protection' page on our site for full details.
